The limit, measured.

A derivative is where secant slopes are heading, an integral is where sums of pieces are heading, and a Taylor series is where polynomials are heading. Every limit here is known in closed form, so each approximation is measured against it. The error is followed as the step shrinks, until floating point itself pushes back.
